There Once was Summer....

Well we did have a fantastic week of sunshine but it now seems so far away....

If it wants to come back I won't stand in its way.

BBQ's and drinks on the deck (no we haven't got a boat but decking) and everyone has more of a smile on their face. The downside are the hot sticky nights that don't do it for me but I will tolerate them if it means we have lovely sunny days.

From a work perspective those hazy summer days aren't very productive though. Although the 'green gown of summer' can occasionally produce some outstanding images, it is not the norm. i tend to go looking for closer work that can still be placed in my favourite location such as flowers on the fells above Wast Water.

Of course we can still photograph but I find that I am waiting for the sunsets to gather anything worthwhile.Sunrises? I rarely do them in summer because I like my bed too much. Honesty is the best policy!

A month or so back I was filmed by Granada TV as I took the weather girl, Kerry Gosney out for a days workshop.

The weather was not what we ordered but we had a very productive time and you can watch the result by clicking this link .

Since that was recorded I have actually shed 9KG. Not as a result of seeing myself on the box but because I wanted to improve my cycling and hill fitness. Very little helps.

Fuji were very pleased with my blog about the Provence trip and sent it out via their site. The response has been very good and I am grateful for the lovely emails and comments I received.

Throughout June and the beginning of July I have been running workshops and met some delightful people as usual.

Another 'Mark' assimilating the scene and capturing Wast Water on a less than sunny day.

It is always a pleasure to get together with folk, no matter what their standard of photography and see them enjoy the days as they progress with their hobby. I currently running more over the coming weeks and planning into 2018 which seems to be rushing towards us.

Where has this year gone???

Answers on a postcard please....
