As the days grow shorter I find myself busier than ever with 1-1 workshops in particular filling my weeks. apart from one or two small gaps I will be working up till 23rd December this year with clients arriving from two continents.

As the winter approaches, my season of talks begin.

I managed a week away in the Algarve recently and the wall to wall sunshine was extremely welcome. I never tire of going there and Irene and I had a superb week with a few images captured for Monarch Airlines and the agencies. I even managed to find a fossil of a footprint whilst out and about near Faro.

I take a small kit with me when away namely my mirrorless X Pro1, a couple of lenses and my Lee Filters. I dont normally photograph at night but whilst walking around one evening I saw these sun beds illuminated by the restaurant lights. They looked eerie and as someone commented had the appearance of being a moon installation.

Upon my return, I went straight into a two day workshop with Ashleigh and whilst day ones weather was overcast the second was simply stunning. I have to say that the first day was really cold. Having come from temperatures of 32 degrees to 12 with a cool wind had an effect. Gloves and my trusty old Flying Helmet were out all day

I personally don't mind the weather but its nice to be able to teach with a variety of 'seasons' in a couple of days. She enjoyed it throughly and produced some stunning images. I look forward to seeing her in the early part of 2017.

As I write this the fleece is on and the temperature has taken a downward turn. The leaves will be turning quickly and I read today that we are due a very heavy winter.
