Projects And A Body Of work

As we now move into what should be ‘as near normal’ as we can expect, I note that many people are now going further afield to ‘breathe’ again.

Let us hope that we can all move onwards and safely.

During the restrictions, I have found that working locally has opened my eyes to different photographic opportunities and have enjoyed the challenges that they have presented. It is good to push and test yourself.

I have always set myself tasks and projects to work on as it stretches you. Whilst we go out with our cameras, it is a fact that the majority of people now have computers and phones loaded with images that never see the light of day, being kept in the ‘electronic system’ and rarely print or display them.

To that end, I create books for posterity, from projects I photograph and ultimately, they will eventually represent a body of work.

Purpose. I find that invaluable.

I have several on the go constantly and as well as my major project at Dinorwic, I also shoot the natural formations that are literally all around when we venture out. All it takes are fresh eyes and a different outlook.

I have always done this ever but it has become more polarised in recent times.

There are many self publishing sites out there and all have their merits, so instead of buying more cloud space to keep those snaps on, why not try and create your own books? I have used several over the years but prefer BLURB. The process of construction is generally very easy to follow and when your book arrives, it will show and display your images in a completely different way.

Whatever you do and however you move forward enjoy your photography!
